Agios Neophytos Monastery

Located 9km (5.5miles) north of Paphos, the monastery founded at the end of 12th century by the Cypriot hermit and writer Neophytos. It contains some of the finest Byzantine frescoes dating from 12th century. The monastery church, contains some of the most beautiful icons of the Post-Byzantine period of the 16th century is a very ecclesiastical museum.

Edro III Shipwreck

The Edro III, an 83-meter-long cargo ship, is located a few miles away from Peyia and the Sea Caves area. The wreck is right on the shore and, at first glance, looks like an abandoned garden.

For the story, the Sierra Leone-flagged Edro III left from Limassol to Rhodes in bad weather and with a cargo of plasterboard.  Finally, the ship drifted due to the strong winds and rough seas and finally went ashore near Peyia.  The ship remained stranded on the rocks in the sea caves area of Paphos since the 8th of December in 2011.

Paphos Mosaics

The ancient mosaics here are considered among the finest in the world, and serve as a stunning record of Greco-Roman daily life.

Located in the Kato Paphos region of Cyprus, the ancient floor mosaics are considered amongst the finest in the world, serving as a valuable and beautiful record of everyday life of the Greco-Romans as well as the legends of gods, goddesses, and heroes. Visitors cannot fail to be astounded by the quality of them, particularly the later ones.

Tombs of the Kings

Spread over a vast area, these impressive underground tombs date back to the 4th century BC. They are carved out of solid rock with some being decorated with Donc pillars. High officials rather than kings were buried here, but the magnificence of the tombs gave the locality its name.

Paphos Mediaeval Castle

Located in the harbor area, it is originally a Byzantine fort built to protect the harbor, it was rebuilt by the Lusignans in the 13th century, dismantled by Venetians in 1570 and rebuilt by the Ottomans after they captured the island in the 16th century. Enjoy a cup of coffee or light snack in one of the many cafes that are around the area.

Archaeological Park of Kato Paphos

Located in Kato Pafos, this magnificent UNESCO World Heritage Site includes monuments that date back to prehistoric times, the Middle Ages, and the Roman period. At the heart of this archaeological park is the site’s most prized possession. Considered among the finest in the eastern Mediterranean, the intricate floor mosaics are feted for their excellent preservation and vibrant colours, depicting various scenes from Greek mythology.
